This document outlines procedures and algorithms for Verifying the accuracy and validity of credit card numbers. Most credit card numbers are encoded with a "Check Digit". A check digit is a digit added to a number (either at the end or the beginning) that validates the authenticity of the number. A simple algorithm is applied to the other digits of the number which yields the check digit. By running the algorithm, and comparing the check digit you get from the algorithm with the check digit encoded with the credit card number, you can verify that you have correctly read all of the digits and that they make a valid combination.

A powerful moment in Babylon 5. Me thinks it is time to do another re-watching of Babylon 5.
Battlefield of Heroes Beta
Recieved my Battlefield of Heroes beta invite this morning. Fun quick play freebie. Less than Quake 3 franticness, cartoon style like Team Fortress 2, the maps are not as large as Battlefield 1942 and free unless you want to buy some custom skins, guns or gestures. Like all online multiplayers I wish for the ability to talk to my teammates instead of typing. Not sure how long I will be playing but definitely a fun lunch time game.

As web designers, we're used to designing for the particular constraints and capabilities of web browsers, and there's a ton of great advice out there to help. Nearly everyone agrees that we need new methods that produce more higher-quality calories using fewer resources, such as water or energy, and accruing fewer "externals," such as pollution or unfair labor practices. Where the consensus fails is over what should replace the bad old industrial system. It's not that we lack enthusiasm—activist foodies represent one of the most potent market forces on the planet. Unfortunately, a lot of that conscientious buying power is directed toward conceptions of sustainable food that may be out of date.

The Watchmen (movie)
I give it a solid thumbs up. Went to see it with 2 Watchmen virgins and fan from when they sold the original issues back in ’86. Everyone liked the movie. I was afraid the Watchmen virgins would end up getting lost without having read the book but it held up.
