I was riding on I-75 heading from the parents back to Lexington. Just south of Georgetown I’m cruising along at about 80 when wind gusts picks up then the down pour begans. Yepie my first riding in the rain 🙁 luckily there was an over pass really close so I made for it and hoped for a short down pour. About 5 minutes into my wait this other bike pules up. It is this older rider named Walt on an early 80’s Kawasaki cruiser. We chat for a bit between semis, cars and trucks blasting past us. After another 10 minutes or so we decide to brave the rain, Lexington is only a handful of miles away. Walt and I rode together to Lexington’s down town where everything is bone dry and we are soaked. The Blundstones prove to make great water buckets and will probably take days to dry out.
So I’m no longer a rain riding virgin but not looking forward to the next time. Might have to invest in some rain slicks.
Oh, and have 1,5000 miles on the M50 in 5 weeks!

Picked her up from Bell’s Suzuki in Lexington on Friday’s lunch. A 2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50, my first brand spanking new vehicle. Put 240 miles on her over the first weekend mostly on KY25 between Lexington and Florence.
My 1977 Yamaha XS750 2-D
Last Wednesday I bought a 1977 Yamaha XS750 2-D from a guy in Beachmont Ohio. Was not able to get the title transfer, tags, registration and inspencted til Monday morning. Damm it is fun to ride!
Fuel Cell Motorcycle
World’s First Fuel Cell Motorcycle Unveiled if they make these things resonably low priced it could do well in warmer climates. Hell I could ride one to work 4-5 months out of the year.

2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back
A biking fozbaca update. Over the weekend I finally decided on a motorcycle. Went to the local Honda dealer and after talking with the sales dude a bit decided I wanted a Honda Shadow A.C.E. 750 Deluxe. It is a cruiser, has a “classic” look, just enough muscle and doesn’t cost a fortune. I had him check on financing, never had payments on anything but credit cards and student loans, while I tried to decide on color. I’m partial to the Metallic or Orange, want to make it easier to be seen by those mad auto drivers.
Metallic Silver/Black
Candy Orange/Orange Motif
Candy Dark Red/Black
Black
Unfortunately all was for naught, for this past weekend at least. Over the past 5 years I have been very diligant about paying off all my debt. Taking care of those pesky college student credit cards still hanging around. Paying off my car and student loans. Being free of it all for over a year has been such a good feeling, til saturday. It seems that not having any debt for 1+ years makes me a risk, enter much confusion.
All will be well. In a couple of weeks I will be back to buy a bike, with a slightly larger down payment. So the moral of the story is no debt isn’t always a good thing.
Though in two weeks maybe I’ll decide on a different bike 🙂
