Obsessive-compulsive disorder linked to piety. Having been born, baptised and confirmed spending my first 8 years of schooling at St. Mary’s the connection doesn’t surprise me in the least. One thing Catholics have on most of the other Christian derivatives is ritualist compulsive behavior. Metafilter has discussion.
