The theory is that a “worse” system, with say 50% of what is wanted, will succed over a “better” because of cost, earlyier release, etc, and fixing the remain 40% will lock people in. Intrestingly Unix and DOS were examples of a “worse” system succeding.

Favorite Scripting Language Poll Questionaire on Linux.com
My pick was Perl but the results are intresting, PHP has 50%, Perl had 20-25% and Python had 7% (results when checked). I liked seeing Python as high as it was but PHP being over 50% was a shocker. Might have to explore PHP and see why it is soo cool.
