Geez, it sounds like the guys at Salon don't know what they are talking about. I mean, let's face it, SSI is just THE only way to make a web site because it leverages already-known techniques. Just because you can do this, "separate data from presentation" hocus pocus doesn't mean that you need a CMS. Gosh darn it, if you want to change the look-and-feel of your web site, then you should have to change EVERY PAGE to make sure it works. CMS is just garbage.
